Recognize Your Inner Critic

How do you know if what you’re hearing is your true voice or your inner critic? It’s important to distinguish between these very different voices.

Your deep inner wisdom is your true voice. It is based in love and it is gentle, positive and supportive. The voice of your inner critic is based in fear and creates negative emotions, including anger, guilt and shame.

Sometimes we’ve listened to this critic for so long that we think it must be truthful, because it’s always been there and pushed us to improve or succeed. But this voice is not here to make us feel better, worthy or motivated. Our inner critic is actually draining us of our positive and creative energy.

After listening to this reflection, my hope is the next time you hear your critical voice, you’ll take a moment to pause, breathe & ask - Who am I Listening to?

As always, to go through the guided reflection now - simply find a peaceful place to sit where you won’t be interrupted, hit play, and breathe. You’ve got this!

What came up for you in this? Are you noticing how often your critical voice is showing up? I’d love to hear how it went.

With gratitude,
Pamela
